Privacy & moderation
A public record with private identity fields
You decide how your approved submission is attributed. Your required name and unit number are kept in the private moderation system.
What we collect and why
Complaint and air-reading submissions require your name and unit so the site operator can assess resident submissions. We do not independently verify residency merely by collecting these fields. The system also stores your submission, review state, timestamps, optional private screenshot, and a hash of the secret receipt used to manage it. Temporary request limits help control spam. Server and network providers may process connection information.
What appears publicly
- Select Publish anonymously to display “Anonymous resident.”
- If you turn anonymity off, supply a separate public display name. The private name field is never automatically copied into a public listing. Your unit is never a public field.
- A complaint reference is published only when you explicitly select that option.
- Screenshots remain private to the moderator. They are never publicly served, even after approval.
- Only a reviewed and approved version appears. Updates require a new review; the earlier approved version stays visible until replaced or withdrawn.
Do not put names, unit numbers, private email addresses, faces, medical details, or other identifying information into public titles, notes, updates, display names, or case references. A combination of dates, locations, and details can still identify someone. Anonymous public display is not a guarantee that identity can never be inferred or legally required to be disclosed.
How moderation works
A moderator checks the proposed public text for personal information, relevance, firsthand attribution, source labels, and unsupported accusations. Approval is not verification that an allegation is true, a finding by an agency, or legal advice. The site may reject, correct through a new revision, or withdraw material that includes private information, harassment, threats, spam, or claims that cannot be responsibly presented. A moderator cannot override your chosen anonymous attribution in the public record.
Your receipt and withdrawal
Save the submission ID and secret receipt shown after submitting. Treat the receipt like a password. Use Manage a submission to see review status, propose a correction, or withdraw the public listing immediately. The secret is not placed in a URL or saved in browser storage by this site. If you lose it, automatic recovery is unavailable in this initial version.
Storage, access, and retention
The submission database and screenshots are self-hosted on the site operator’s Umbrel server. Only authenticated moderators should have access. Backups may retain older versions, and the hosting network or reverse proxy can process traffic. No system can promise absolute security. Withdrawal removes a record from public listings; it does not automatically erase the moderation record, screenshot, or backups. Until an operator retention schedule is adopted, do not submit material you cannot accept being retained privately. Keep your own originals; this site is not a legal evidence repository.
There are no advertising trackers in the custom site theme, and no paid per-submission processor. Ordinary links to agencies, monitor vendors, and review platforms take you to their sites and policies.
Corrections and privacy concerns
Use your receipt to withdraw or revise your own post. For corrections, privacy concerns, private-data deletion requests, or resident organizing, email the site organizer at adamheskin@gmail.com. Do not submit someone else’s private details to demonstrate a problem.
